Alberta Trophy Hunts was established in 1981, and since its conception has been providing quality hunting experiences for the traveling hunter.

Through the years we have outfitted trips for most species of game found in Alberta, and have produced. We focus on providing "better than average" trophies and have in many cases taken "book" heads for our big game hunters and consistent bag limits for our waterfowl clients. Organization and hard work make this all possible.

At Alberta Trophy Hunts our goal is to take mature trophy Whitetail bucks that will score at least 150 to 160 B&C and we consistently do.

Our best buck of the 2006 season went 192 gross. We access huge areas of land and they all hold deer of book size. We hunt using blinds and shooting houses. Some stands are fixed while others are mobile and we move them as cropping and deer movements dictate.

Our guides know the deer, and where they feed and where they bed. Blinds are places accordingly. Employ proper blind sitting techniques, and you most likely will take your deer home.

Mule Deer, while not as abundant as the whitetail in our areas, still do very well here, and we do harvest some exceptional trophy bucks.

Our guides look for bucks scoring 180 B&C or better. We limit ourselves on average to only a couple of Muley hunters per season, and thus we do very well success wise on the big deer. The hunt is a spot and stalk hunt.

As our areas are very big we utilize 4 x 4's to get from ranch to ranch and spot the deer herds. Once a suitable buck is found most likely it will be stalked. These hunts are usually sold out 2 years in advance, and an early booking is advisable.

Moose seem to be everywhere in some of our areas. The moose hunt for residents is a lottery system, and although our outfitter tags are guaranteed, they are very limited in numbers. That, coupled with the fact that these farm/farm fringe areas do not have big numbers of black bear and wolf, means little or no predation of the moose calves, and consequently our moose population has exploded.

Success rates on taking a bull moose run pretty much a 100%. Pricing on these moose hunts makes it one of the best hunt values anywhere!

Wingshooting at Alberta Trophy Hunts is as good as it gets. Ask Jeff Foiles. For the past four seasons Jeff has filmed his "Fallen Skies" series with us. The "Follow the Flight" television series by Final Approach has filmed several shows here also.

Our lodge is situated well, right in the homeland of the Greater Canada goose. 90% of the Canadas we take are greaters. Our areas are also in the flyway of the Specks, Snows and the Ross's goose.

Goose hunting here is as good as it ever has been. The population is at a peak and daily we are on the birds. At Alberta Trophy Hunts, we use a combination of spotters and guides, daily we cover huge areas and consistently produce quality shooting. Most mornings start off with a field goose shoot. After that, we pack up and head to camp for lunch and a break. Later in the afternoon we leave camp to do a duck shoot. These shoots can be field shoots or hunts over ponds or creeks. Sometimes we hunt marshes utilizing our Go Devil equipped Jonboats. We go where the ducks are-and we are equipped to do so.

Another shoot some are interested in is the October diver shoot. These birds start arriving here in numbers by the 1st and by the 15th we are loaded up with them. The birds have good color by then, making great candidates for mounts. Most species are here, including canvasback and redhead. Hunters are welcome to do this hunt for a change of pace.

Duck hunting here has been very, very good for the past few seasons and for the last two has been incredible! With the wet spring, this upcoming season will be the same.

Our hunting camp complex is owned exclusively by Alberta Trophy Hunts and was constructed solely for the purpose of outfitting hunts. It is your private get-away while you are hunting with us The camp consists of 5 sleeping cabins, a shower house facility, and of course a main lodge for dining, relaxing and visiting. The facilities are modern and are serviced with both electricity and gas. The complex offers shower facilities for both ladies and men. Both units are equipped with washer/dryer units.

We at Alberta Trophy Hunts believe in good equipment, and we offer you, as part of your hunt, the use of some of the best there is to offer. To access our vast areas, we all of course drive 4 x 4's. Quads and if needed, snow machines are available for everything from getting duck boats to water, deer blinds to remote areas, hunters to blinds, decoys to fields and of course the retrieval of game. Waterfowl hunters can enjoy some of the most modern gear available. We use Final Approach and Stealth layouts. Avery, Greenhead and Bigfoot decoys are put to use in big numbers.

There are kennels on site, should you wish to hunt with your own dog. Lakes and ponds are accessed with Jonboats and Go Devils. We go where the birds are! Deer hunters enjoy a variety of blinds, most which are equipped for heat should we need it. The camp hosts several freezers and a meat house for processing and storing your game. We have, as you can see invested a lot in your hunt, and it often makes the difference in success and enjoyment.
