Nova Scotia Black Bear Hunts
Huge black bear live in the mountain areas surrounding our lodge. High in the mountains and in moose country, our bear grow to be trophies that can reach over 500 lbs.
Nova Scotia Moose Hunts
Most mature moose in this area weigh between 800-1200 lbs, with a spread width of 40" to 70", and 16 to 40 points.
Nova Scotia Whitetail Deer Hunts
Mature whitetails typically field dress from 200-250 lbs and have 8-12 points. Whitetail bucks in our area typically have very thick antler mass and large bodies.

Guided Canada Black Bear Hunting
Professionally guided Canadian black bear hunting in Cape Breton Island!
Cape Breton Island has some of the best black bear hunting in North America, and Cape Breton Highlands National Park is renowned to have some of the largest black bears in the world, deep in the mountains where trophy bears and moose are plentiful. Our guides have more then 20 years experience hunting the park boundaries and offer you the greatest opportunity to harvest a trophy bear.
Our season starts on the second Monday of September and weekly hunts are available until the first week of December. Bear hunters are provided with active bear sites, all monitored by trail cameras so we can put the hunter at the best bait sites. We hunt only 30% of our baited sites each year, only the ones with the best action!
Ladder Stands and Ground Blinds for Black Bears
You'll have your choice of a 16 foot high ladder stand or sheltered ground blinds that are strategically placed on high ground for those who prefer to stay on the ground. All sites are pre-baited for over a month before hunters arrive, unhunted previous to your arrival, and available for either bow or rifle hunters with most shots at approximately 15 yards.

• Bears are mostly active from late afternoon to early evening, guides will have a variety of activities planned for your mornings at no extra cost, such as ATV moose scouting trips, fishing trips (deep sea, lakes and rivers), and Zodiac whale watching trips from our lodges wharf.
Guided Canada Moose Hunting
A-1 Canadian Outfitters offers some of the best Canada Moose hunting in Nova Scotia!
Cape Breton Island has some of the best moose hunting anywhere in the world. The national park is a haven for trophy moose and we hunt its borders. Over the last 15 years we have guided resident hunters to aproximately 150 moose with a 100% success rate!
This is a Nova Scotia resident only hunt, a non-resident would be a companion for one or more guided hunts. Moose companion hunts are mainly offered with baited black bear hunts. Since moose hunting is best in the morning and black bears are most active in late afternoon to early evenings, it's a perfect combo!
Guided Canada Whitetail Deer Hunting
A-1 Canadian Outfitters offers some of the best Canada whitetail deer hunting in Nova Scotia!
Northern whitetail deer are renowned for large bodies and thick antler mass. Most mature bucks will field dress between 200-250 lbs, have 8-12 points and average in 130-160 inch class with some larger taken every season. Due to our harsh winters, the herd never reaches the carrying capacity of the land, producing some truely monster bucks.
Deer hunting is done mainly from ladder stands,over a variety of food sources,along with scrape hunts and staging areas. Deer hunts are mainly offered as combo hunts with black bear hunts since minimal time is required to harvest a bear. Many of our bear baiting sites are close to prime deer hunting areas.
